It's that time again... Who's overrated? Who's underrated? Ted and Alex will be yelling the latter. The rest of the league will likely be yelling the former about those two. It's been a solid 4 weeks of action so far. While the men haven't quite separated from the boys yet, there are some new guys making noise, some old guys looking washed, and Tel looking like vintage Tel.
Kudos to My Madden for adding the new blog feature. Our new home for...
POWER RANKINGS
1. Washington Football Team (4-0) (Tel)
No doubt most of the league will be nauseated to see Tel on top of his perch once again. Without even taking into account his 4 straight Super Bowl wins in Madden 21, you can make a case that he belongs up here from his Madden 22 merits alone. After blowing out Chargers and Giants, he faced stiffer competition from the Buffalo Bills and Atlanta Falcons, but he continued to do what he does and that is come away with a win. It will be frightening to see what happens when the WFT start to acquire some top level talent. Antonio Gibson has been spectacular with 424 yards and 5 TD's in Tel's first 4 outings.
2. Cleveland Browns (4-0) (Nut)
While Madden 21 was full of disappointing early round playoff losses for "Dis" Nut, he's off to making amends this cycle. Blowing out Kansas City, Houston, and Chicago was expected, but the 20-17 victory over a tough Vikings squad kept some of the naysayers at bay. Nick Chubb has been a force for this squad averaging a hair under 100 yards a game with 7 TD's on the season.
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-0) (JGoo)
Another man who met heartbreak in M21. JGoo lost the AFC Championship on a Hail Mary miracle to young buck Ted. Since inheriting the Super Bowl Champs, JGoo has attempted to repeat the formula Bill Belichick and Bruce Arians followed which is "Let Tom Brady do his thing". Games have mostly been close, but Brady and the Bucs took down tough Dallas and Atlanta squads before holding off LAR and NE. On a team loaded with guys like Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown, and Rob Gronkowski, it might be stunning to note that the leading receivers are Ronald Jones III and OJ Howard who have combined for over 500 yards in the 4 games.
4. Indianapolis Colts (4-0) (Jacob)
Our first new guy to break the top 5 this cycle is Jacob. Following wins over Seattle and LAR, the consensus take was that he had not yet played anyone. Soon, this opinion was squashed when Jacob took down Joel's Titans 32-28 to prove he could play with some of the upper echelon on the league. Behind mean running from Jonathan Taylor and a controversial QB change (signing Cam Newton to start over Carson Wentz), these Colts are rolling.
5. Green Bay Packers (4-0) (Bonjo)
It seemed like Bonjo's best days were behind him when he moved and took a hiatus from the madden scene for awhile. But the 4-0 start for his favorite team, may bring this 6'6 (3 full inches taller than Ted) juggernaut of a man back towards the top. He hasn't truly been tested yet with multiple sim wins, but the perfect record coupled with the presence of Aaron Rodgers gives me faith that he will be a contender in the NFC.
6. Buffalo Bills (3-1) (Nick)
Nick's lone loss is to the #1 ranked team in the league. Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs have connected for 6 TD passes so far!
7. Tennessee Titans (3-1) (Joel)
A 4 point loss to the #4 Colts took away what would have been a perfect start to the season. Derrick Henry has rumbled to 388 yards and 3 TD's with 18 broken tackles.
8. Minnesota Vikings (3-1) (Jon)
Jon took the league by storm with wins over Glap and Ted to start the season. A narrow loss to Nut ruined his undefeated season, but he is still very much a contender in the NFC North. Dede Westbrook has been the top dog while Thielen and Jefferson have taken a backseat.
9. New York Jets (3-1) (ARod)
The Jets have been winning in spite of Zack Wilson who has a horrific 1 to 6 interception ratio. Ashtyn Davis' 4 picks have been a big part of that.1
10. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1) Twitch
A questionable loss to Ted seems to be a blip on an otherwise solid start to the season. Trevor Lawrence has defied lofty expectations with an 81.5% completion percentage and 12 TD's to only 2 INT's.
